Kudos to Charles for only using pics showing riders wearing helmets, the single smartest thing that you can do if you are going to ride. I have been riding all kinds of bikes for most of my life and have ridden without a helmet more than I should have. I understand the wind in your hair feeling completely but have lost friends, and have had friends seriously injured, that would still be here today, and avoided staples in their heads, if only they had worn a helmet. Trust me, it sucks riding on a highway, getting stung in the face with bugs, gravel, rain, and I am always amazed at the fools that refuse to wear a helmet when I KNOW that it's not enjoyable at high speeds. Oh, the price some are willing to pay to try and look cool.........

Modern bikes look good, but a lot of manufacturers have done what they had to do to make sales happen. The  buyers often want speed  and top end that they will rarely use, and the manufacturers are willing to sacrifice durability to make it happen. I have 200,000 miles on two wheels , and the best advice I can think of  is to shop carefully, and more importantly, to dress properly. A lot of my friends have been severely injured or killed in my decades of riding . Be careful out there ,  death is not the worst thing that can happen, one can lie in a hospital for decades.   My bike is ready to go , see you out there.

Man, would I love to get a new Indian!!!  Just love the looks and heard they are really nice.

I grew up riding Honda's and had 3 or 4 starting with the little 70.  I stopped riding for many years, and when I got divorced decided to get myself a Harley.  It's been love from the first HD, but that one proved to be way too small as it was a 2007 Sportster 883.  When I went to trade, I really liked the HD Heritage Softail Deluxe.  That dealer also had Honda, Yamaha and Victory.  Well, I felt the one I wanted was too much money, so I ended up buying a Victory Kingpin.  I never liked that bike ever and ended up trading it for the Softail Deluxe I wanted in the first place.  What a great bike!

Zero SR 137 urban miles or 85 miles at 55 mph.

Anybody who rides for more than 2 hours at a time will not be getting one of these.

The writer is making alot of stuff up. The economy is not recovering. That's why many people are turning to motorcycles. It's a cheaper way to travel.
