Miata a sports cars..Yeah right. The only thing this piece of crap is worth being called is a chick car. If any man is seen in this you can only think of one word.. (   )..

And GTI give a break and corvettle has seen its day as a sports car when the Camaro and Cadillac CTS-V coupe came on and now has dominated the GM line-up

Really, aside from the Corvette and Miata, none of the other cars on this list are hopelessly impractical, which means only the Corvette and Miata are true sports cars. The best I can say about the other cars, even the GT-R, is that they perform like sports cars, but aren't sports cars.

Since when did anything made with a Japanese or Korean name become a "sports car"(aside from the old "Z" cars from Datsun)? The term is now used mostly as a sales pitch rather than in the classic meaning. This is typical for Asian companies that boast of nothing truly performance related in their advertising; only glam,  glitter and bs. Someone needs to point out to young guys that a Honda Civic with a loud muffler and spoiler is not what most sport car enthusiasts think of when talking about performance.

On the cheap, but sports looking department, the 2012 Corolla ''S type'' can look really awesome when it has the full body kit. Plus it's a very comfortable ride if you have 1-3 kids. I have one and i love it.

My two cents - take care,

Not really, Nissan GTR is the only one here looks remotely appealing. Corvette and Mustang are just examples why GM and Ford were bankrupt.

Sports cars for under 30K?  How about sports cars for under $10k?

1987-1996 C-4 Vette

1999-2003 Miata

BMW Z3

Boxster up to 2002

TR6

Mustang LX 5.0  1987-1993  (More of a pony car than a sports car really, but lots of old-fashioned fun)

Any Toyota MR2

Any older, slightly tired Honda S2000
