2012 Bentley Continental GTC
Big things are forecast from Bentley, including a bold new SUV. But for now, the more traditional Continental GTC is taking center stage here at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
As Porsche has done with the new 911, Bentley has stuck firmly to the existing template, but promises this new Continental GTC is bigger, more luxurious and much more visually commanding than the outgoing model.

What is it? The Bentley Continental GTC is a heavily revised version of the old car. The 6.0-liter W12 engine now produces 575 horsepower, and the cockpit has gone even more upmarket, if that is possible.
What's hot? Bentley has increased the visual drama with "superformed" front wings, which have no seams to spoil the lines, and a bold double-horseshoe rear. There are 21-inch wheels for the first time on a GTC, plus more bespoke option choices. And the hot-air "neck warmer" system will make roof-down travel more comfortable.
What's not? It's not an all-new car, so only Bentley aficionados will really notice all the changes. The thirsty W12 engine seems out of step with other "green" innovations here at the show.
How much and when? The Bentley Continental GTC is on sale now, for $212,800. Deliveries will begin in late 2011.
MSN Autos' verdict: Stylish and fast, but perhaps not a big enough evolution from the outgoing model.
