The article is called "modern supercars" but there are only two on the list that you can still buy.
It should have been called yesterdays supercars.
I think the Corvette should be listed, not because of its stellar performance, but because is comes close to the performance of the others for half the price (or less).
I'm torn on the subject of exotics and supercars. As an engineer I find them fascinating and they would be fun to be part of the development team. On the other hand as street vehicles they are only useful as ego mobiles. In the US. where the speed limit is 85 and you might be able to get away with a minute at 120 mph plus they are an expensive joke.
You can go much faster and be safer on the track in a dedicated race car, and you can probably do it cheaper as well.
Even if I'd win the Powerball I doubt that I would ever buy anything faster than a Lotus Exige or a BMW 135is. If I wanted to drive really fast Id rather have a 1 year lease of a Star Mazda so I could drive as fast as I wanted and maybe win a few dollars for my efforts.
The Ariel Atom V8 looks like fun but it is pointless on the street where I would likely lose my license before the oil came up to temperature.
