All I can say is I have owned Fords, almost exclusively, for the past 25 years.  You can believe this or not but, I do very little to them.  I have a 2000 Ranger now with almost 100,000 miles on it and it has been virtually trouble free.  I also own a 2012 Ford Escape that is a joy to drive.  I have driven Hondas and Toyotas in the same class and they don't compare.  The Escape is a much better/nicer vehicle.  You can disagree all you want, I could care less.  Most cars you buy today will easily go 150,000 to 200,000 miles with proper maintenance.  If you don't take care of them, none of them will last.  I have worked on cars for 50 years so, I have some idea of what I am talking about.  The only thing I have to say is to support your American companies and force them to bring jobs back here.  The answer is not to be working for foreign owned companies whose only interest is taking money out of America.  Take care of your own.

Worthless article. Its easy to see who paid off who.

Two things about this article that make me wonder who paid off the author.
1. Not a single Ford on the List! Really? not one?
2. Stop the love affair with the Volt already.  In 2011 chevy sold 7,671 Volts, in comparison Toyota sold 240,259 Corollas and Honda sold 221,235 Civics.  When you produce 35X the number of cars you will have more problems reported.  Besides for the price of the Volt I could buy a Civic to drive and a second one to keep around just in case the first one broke.

Why are there no Ford, Dodge or Chrysler vehicles on this list?

Wow, the Honda Element won in it's class.  The data came from owners of 2011's, the last year Honda made this monstrosity.  An ugly car that isn't even sold anymore.

If the consumer report magazine was 4" wide and made of soft absorbent paper I would have a use for it. Anything that consumer reports or recommends is the last thing I would use or buy. Do they eat raw fish heads for lunch.

The Toyota XB is the most reliable gas hog made.  I've had an 08, and now a 2012, best mileage to date on the 12, 23.1mpg at 58 mph.  This is quality??????????????????  Toyota? Never again

There are some awefully boring cars on this list.  Seems like a dependabilty study that gets data over the course of a 12 months from original owners of only 2011 model year cars is a little shortsighted.

Does JD Powers read Consumer Reports? The Fit failed the crash test. The Crosstour has poor drivability . The Element is discontinued. The Cooper is loved by owners but had the highest complaints. Who cares about the first 12-months. I want to know years 5->15.
