Quite a good car as an old friend said to us about her 1989 Camry 4 banger with 353,000 miles on it. She said she had one part actually fail on it, the drivers door lock, had to be fixed.

nothing special, the front looks like there is NO front bumper(protection?), the back is not ugly but ordinary. If Toyota solves the glare issue on their display panel that would be helpful too.

Looks like the Accord could very well be number one after seeing the Camry, that grille is butt ugly, and the rear looks very similar to the outgoing Sonata

I had a 2011 Camry and I liked it, but it was very plain and old fashioned. I live in Louisiana and the humidity here is always 99% it was only 3 years old and under the hood every thing was rusting it only had 23,000 miles on it whats up with that? I don't like the new look of the camry it looks like an economy car for teenagers, I am 48 year old  and I want a vehicle that is comfortable&  good looking but not necessarily sporty and cute. I think Toyota is struggling to find a good look for the camry the grill is not appealing :-(  and the warranty isn't either...

Looks like an oversized Corolla.  Anyway people don't buy a Camry for its looks; they buy it because they don't want a car breaking down all the time.  I like my 2012 Camry and expect to like it a lot more in 10 years.

I thought the last body change was a move in the direction of better.

This I'm pretty sure is a step back towards the pack.

A significant redo was definitely necessary for the Camry.  It looks good and should bring in buyers who thought the current models were stodgy and boring - which they are.  Regardless of some of the recent issues with Toyotas, they will continue to be excellent, well-made vehicles.  If you don't have a real preference for a particular brand of car, I've always said you can't go wrong buying a Toyota - and that still goes.

It is very interesting to me that the current styling trends for sedans all seem to be based on the ground-breaking styling of the current series of Hyundai Sonatas.  When Hyundai rolled out that car a few years ago, it set the styling standard for pretty much every sedan vehicle from every manufacturer since.  From the Ford Focus to the Chevrolet Malibu to the new Chrysler 200.  Just about all the sedans out now clearly took the styling cue from 2011 model year Sonata.

Oh well, guess somebody's running out of ideas. Back end looks like the 2013 Honda Civic; lower front like a monstrous overkill of the Ford Focus and side panels are rather Honda Accord-ion like.

Insides look decent so we'll hope for safety and reliability to save the day.  Otherwise, the dang thing is UGLY!

When will they offer a coupe as does Honda with its Accord model?  No I don't want an FR-S or a TC, in my teens and early 20s those would have appealed to me, but now I just want a coupe or 2 door hatch that is made for a more adult mind set.

still looks blah just like the avalon and lexus, but then again not a sedan person...i guess cause all of them in the price point all look the same, when they got rid of the celica they got rid of the sporty side of toyota...cause the prius is about the ugliest thing on the road.

I think the car looks fantastic.  Their drivetrain was already quite solid and they tweaked the bits that they needed to in order to stay competitive and try to keep the Camry as the top seller in the US.  Toyota knows it's place with the Camry, it and the Corolla are their volume sellers, so there's no need for 500+ hp or track packs.  They're cars that will last a long time, look great, are comfortable, efficient and affordable; that's all they need to be.  Add in to that 2 years of maintenance and roadside assistance, you've got the best overall value on the market.  I can't wait to check out the car up close when it's launched.

The name of Toyota will only trigger my memory of sticky pedal, struck floor mat, unintended acceleration, and million and million of vehicles needed to be recalled, etc.
