The best used car choices on the market

In College I owned a 1980 (?) Scirocco.  It was cheap and it ran without a single issue until I sold it three years later for the same price I bought it for.  That is when I learned that German cars drove and handled better and they were oriented to the driver like no other car I had driven to that point.  I'd love to see the new Scirocco come to the US.

I have argued the point of buying American for years.  I believe that the foreign car buying public doesn't know much about history.  Read about the Roman Empire and the parallels between their fall and the United States.  You are living in, what used to be, the greatest country on the earth.  Over the last 40 years, you have been trying to get rid of her as quickly as possible.  You criticize her, burn her flag and support any country but the U.S.  You dig your heels in when someone says something negative about a foreign car.  If your passion for Japan/Europe would transfer to your own country, it would rise again and be great.  But, I don't believe that will happen so I will tell you to enjoy what you are creating.  When you get to the point when all your "dreams" come true and we are completely owned by foreign entities, you are not going to like what you have made.  I have a couple of friends who are from Europe.  One is a teacher the other an engineer.  This is their quote; "only stupid Americans want foreign cars.  People in Europe would kill for American cars".  The same goes for Japan and China.

I wish VW would bring the Scirocco back to the US. I'd buy it in a minute.

It still surprises me how "people" in these comments can disagree with protecting America.  Where do you people live?  Did any of ever serve this country?  Do you even care what happens to it?  Are you citizens of another place?  How can you disagree with protecting America?  How?

I don't understand how these people are hoping and praying the Ferrari California comes to America because it's a great car when just a few headlines down from these evaluations under the heading of "Sleek, Pricey, and Awful....Worst Supercars Ever" is a completely opposite evaluation of the Ferrari California telling everybody that it is not all it's supposed to be and it should not even be on the road because of its transmission problems, lack of hp, and bad styling and assembly. MSN AUTOS is confusing the heck out of everybody. Stop the confusion and support your country....BUY AMERICAN.

I would really like to know what determines whether a model gets to the US.  There are some really fine looking/sounding cars exhibited here but the ones that catch my attention the most and that I would seriously consider buying will never see the US!!!  Do I have to move to Europe to get my hands on one????

oldtimer you're right this new generation cares about one thing THEMSELVES and it'll destroy this country ,a country that us oldtimers served w/ pride. The me generation just doesn't get it. I will have to say that oil , tobacco ,crooked politicians have done a good job of brain washing on this once proud country

What a disappointment these cars are compared to our past.  Plastic every where and cheap

looking at that.  So many devices to protect the occupants its like living in a vault but when

it catches on fire look out all that plastic will burn as a intense heat cooking bodies like they

were in a cremation.  Nothing left but ashes.  That is what the insurance companies like no

hospitals bills just one final settlement.  I'm going to look into a Amish Buggy its the new

"heart beat of America".
