Seriously, a measure of dependability on 2010 vehicles?  2-3 whole years old!  WOW, what a joke...when the cars have been driven for at least 10 years, then tell me about their dependability.

I think that regardless of what any "expert" says about reliability, most people's opinions are based on their own personal experiences with a specific brand or model.  If a person is loyal to a certain brand, the are likely to be more forgiving of that brand's reliability or quality issues.  Though any manufacturer can occasionally produce a lemon, I believe reliability is determined mostly by how the car is driven and maintained, no matter what brand it is.  Almost any modern vehicle, domestic or foreign, will easily run 200K miles or more if it is not abused and is properly maintained.

PRIUS is garbage . . . Not only is it ugly but its drivers actually think they got something special.

Prius is the most dependable compact car........BUT it will be back in the dealership multiple times for recalls and safety issues.

If thats what JD power calls reliable their opinion means nothing to me.

What a crappy article.  The most reliable is a totally subjective issue. It depends on whose driving them and who is the pickiest about things. I don't care how much you folks make from foreign car companies, their cars are not better than American made ones. I've owned a car from every maker you mentioned and prefer American made cars. If people would quit feeling so guilty about buying foreign cars maybe you could quit defending them. Real Americans buy American. Stop buying foreign cars and come back to support your own economy.

I WONDER WHO FUNDS MSN AUTOS?  MUST BE SOME UNDER-THE-TABLE MONEY HAPPENING SOMEPLACE.  WITH ONLY 23.8% OF THE CARS THEY CHOSE BEING AMERICAN MADE, SURE MAKES YOU WONDER, WHO IS GETTING PAID OFF HERE?

MSN is still trying to push JAP cars on us . . .

I would urge Americans to buy American made cars. Everytime a person buys a Asian made car it's one more nail in the coffin of the American auto industry. If that's what patriotic Americans want then fine.
