It's funny......the vast majority are very expensive cars.  When you pay that much, you are NOT getting a better quality car -- you are getting status and more bells and whistles.

I call BS on this list.  The only 2 American made cars both happen to be from Dodge, 1 Japanese car, 2 British cars and all of the rest are German made autos.  I bet any 3 series is more reliable than anything made by Chevrolet. That's strange there are no Chevy's  or Ford'son this list.......Hmmmm I wonder who "influenced" this little "study"???

every company is making junk! The problem is that they are more concerned about a pennies worth more of profit and dont give a crap about their product.Once a month re-calls in the millions of cars makes me think they are all being controled by a bunch of retards.

I believe that the person writing this has very little if any knowledge of what he or she is talking about. We use Dodge Mini Vans in our business they have all gone well over 250,000 miles with very little maintenance. My wife used her Town & Country on her mail route went over 300,000 miles. I’m on my second Jeep Grand Cherokee that has over 278,000 miles on it with only minor maintenance and repairs. My first a 2003 had over 260,000 miles on it when I traded it in and I still see it on the today. This article is about as inaccurate as I have seen!

My wife has a 2006 VW new Bettle, we bought it new, & at first there were NO problems till it hit 20k miles then then motor or the switch for the convertible top motor went [the VW dealership put in a new motor for the convertible first, but, that didn't work], so then they put in a new switch for the system & also then inside door locking switch was fallling off, even though she don't use it [she always uses the remote to open or lock the door] & then the dealer said one of front head lights were out, which was news to us. Then when we took it to the VW dealership they had the GALL to charge a $136 tech check for the problem. I, use to work on cars, but today they have to hook it up to a computer to diagnosis a problem. I, knew what the was "the damn converitble would NO go up". So much for Germany engineering as 99% of the VW is made & assembled in Mexico  I was not with her when she bought the car so appearntly as the saying goes, when they see a women buying or fixing they got ya !! Plus they talk into buying the Gold extented Warranty which actually covers NOTHING I, have 2006 Honda Pilot & we bought it new & knock on wood i've NEVER had a problem with it. 90% of it was made & put together in the USA the othe 10% was done from Canda [mostly parts], I purchased the extented warranty & haven't had to use it once.

Why do "audio" issues affect a car's reliability.  Accross the board, I read articles that blast a car maker's reliability, and more than half the issues with the newer models have to do with the bluetooth or radio.

All I care about is that the car starts, and stops when asked too.

Most of the "audio" issues have to do with user ignorance anyway, so why is it even considered.  All I ask of a car is for it to start.. and stop when asked, and I feel the components that make that happen are the only things that should be considered in "reliability" surveys.

I was surprised to see Chrysler/Dodge mini vans on the list.  I'm on my 3rd one now and 2 of the 3 never had a problem until about 250,000 miles.  My '87 made it to 300,00 before the tranny quit.  My current '97 has 260,000 and looks and drives like 50,000.  However, the '94 Town and Country had to have the dash removed to stop a leak on the firewall.  But the good news was, it was paid for by Chrysler.  I'll probably buy a 4th one when the time comes.  Best value on the road.

I find it suspicious when there is a link below each story to find an alternative to the vehicles they are bashing! Just who do you think PAID for these stories? Hmm

I'm not sure how these statics are arrived at and after reading the other comments many do not seem to agree but I have to say as far as the mini cooper clubman s I would never have bought this car knowing what I know now. What they wrote is exactly true. The second the warranty was up I not only had major problems to include having to replace the clutch on a car that was only 2 years old bot minor little things like the inside door panel keeps popping off!! I have never had a vehicle devalue as fast as this one did!! I love mini coopers...Grew up with the originals in England. In my opinion BMW ruined them!!

They are all junk when they are broken, Fact.  Not one mentioned the fact that the service due counter was likely over 20k miles.  From experience, the Bmw E60 and The cooper S are very reliable (when properly MAINTAINED)!
