For the life of me, I can't figure out why we can't have a civilized discussion, especially about two things: cars and beer. For some reason, the discussion always descends into insults and name calling like "idiot", "moron", "retard", etc. I don't mind a little good-natured ribbing and opposing opinions, but this name calling is ridiculous and is getting out of hand. Even if you know what you're talking about, people stop listening when you throw out that crap. And by the way, it's "Camaro", not "Camero". If you're going to talk about cars, at least spell their names right.

just to expound on others thoughts. i have a hard time thinking of corvettes and vipers as supercars, much less camaros and mustangs. if i put a hundred k worth o product in a 50 year old muscle car, i have a very fast, good handling muscle car that can run with a lot of the big boys. but it's still got a solid rear axle, and other inherent aspects that make it American, that also keep it from being "super". Saleen is a tuner, not a builder, so is shelby (but to a lesser extent-he designs/engineers stuff for Ford). so is Hennessy, but Hennessy also builds his Venom (after he takes delivery from Lotus). a Hennessy cadillac would have been cool on this list. (a pic of a cts coupe is on the thumbnail above for supertuners-a hennessy i'm sure) Mosler, SSC, Falcon, and their likes are the true supercar builders. handmade with passion for a select group of buyers. that is super car-dom. corvette zr1 is there, viper is there. camaro and mustang? zl1 and gt 500 are approaching, but not handmade, not by a long shot. the upside? american makers are letting the engineers ahve some fun, and we, the consumer, are the beneficiary.
