Automaker recalls 2 Jeep models for fire hazards, but says they’re safe.

I'm not exactly "in the know" here, but my hunch for why these cars are not
being released in the US: safety and legal liability issues. Making cars
lawsuit-safe in the USA is a very expensive proposition; and though we'd
like to blame Detroit, Big Oil, and our elected officials, I suspect the real
culprit/enemy is us and our coveted "right to sue", and if I were a carmaker
I wouldn't release these ahead-of-the-curve vehicles here either. Just
too much quicksand and too many attorneys. Exhibit A to document this
theory: the cost of healthcare in the USA.
The Ford Ranger 4-Door should be added to this list! Yes, Ford Ranger fans -- Ford makes a real 4 door Ranger; not a 3 door, or panel 4-door, but real full-size door! Think Toyota's 2003-04 Tacoma TRD. Saw that they make them for Australia(?) and saw one in Southern California with a Mexico license plate, but they've yet to arrive here!
Come on Ford, what's the deal???!!
Cool idea for a list, I have a couple suggestions though:
Ford Global Ranger- The replacement midsize truck for the Ranger and Sport Trac (both retired in the US next year) that looks great, has all the modern features Ford has become known for in its trucks, and fuel sipping diesel engine options with over 30MPG. Sounds like a dream right? Well it isn't, unless you live in the US or Canada, in which case, keep dreaming (and driving your 21MPG ecoboost f150 even though you didn't need a truck that big).
VW Scirocco- How any list of cars not available in the US could not include this great looking compact is beyond me, especially when there are many compacts on the list. I was never a fan of any compact car until I saw this one.
