Middle class families cannot afford anything above $18000 which is a stretch. Why writer thinks that we can afford $25000 worth of car with average $36000 to 45000 per year salary. These car companies are ripping off thier customers by selling low quality cars at high price with less and less warranty. I would rather buy a normal size car in 15000 to 18000 range. Anything above is a strech.

I think $13000 - $18000 Market is wide open for a new car manufacturer. I use to like Huyndai but theier Warranty are less then what they use to offer and their cars are only $1000-$2000 less then overpriced Toyota, Nissan, Mazda and Hondas. So none of the car companies (Foreign or US) have any Idea that how much middle class families can spend. Their CEOs are only interested in pocketting millions of dollars every year and damn care about their employees and general public.
