Just because it's built in the U.S does not make it a U.S car, who do you think is getting the profits its not an american company. Let alone Toyota uses a almost 50% temporary work force so they can not only pay low wages they don't have to pay unemployment if the lay off. all you people buying toyota because its made in america are lying to yourselves. The only thing they do for this country is give right wing politicians an excuse to break unions and american labor force.

relibableraymond are you really that big of an idiot or just that stuck on your brand. Jap cars as you call them do not have to report recalls like american cars. They were allowed to use cover ups to make their cars look better. Having people come in for a free oil change so they could clean out a sludged engine that they didnt' want to have a recall on. I won't knock ford hell no but why is it most my friends have 200 plus thousand miles on their gm's and you say 50 thou. chryseler lost out because they had the most out dated engines with the worst gas milliage and gm was just poor management. It had nothing to do with quality if that was the case toyota would be shut down by now.

Why do people buy jap cars? For reliability. Ford is the only American car company that listened to its customers and started making more reliable vehicles sooner than the others. I will never buy a Chrysler or GM again. I owned a dodge once, it died in 5 years under 100k miles. Friends have had the same experience. That's why those car companies had to get a government bailout. They build sorry unreliable vehicles for the same price that you can buy a Honda that actually lasts 10 years. I have a 2001 Honda accord that I still drive with well over 100k miles. My Ford truck has near 200k miles and is still going. GM/Chevy just got greedy and decided to make their cars last only 50k miles/5 years, so you would have to buy another one sooner. That poor decision caught up with them, when Americans wised up and bought a good reliable car at a good price.

this sounds like a typical social liberalism article. should these same liberals dictate what a african american or a hispanic person should drive?????????????????????????
wonder what liberal professor they had in journalism to stereotype people?
what should liberal divorcee's drive?? a camaro, while a devoted mother can only drive station wagons!?

Arizona outlaw, those are terrible, unreliable, poorly built cars with decade old interior styling. Your Monte Carlo, notorious for transmission problems. Your Chrysler 300 - brakes, transmission, electrical, engine electrical, rear suspension and power steering problems. Just so ya know, it might be time to trade those in for a reliable car that's not made in Mexico or Canada.
