Who writes this nonsense? For many of these, the "fixer-upper" you can buy at that price is a rolling rustbucket which would take years to repair. The 914 engine was not a Beetle engine, it was used in the Bus and the 412. And a Citroen 2CV? Really? Why not throw in a Yugo? Some of his suggestions are sound, but overall this rates a C at best.

The editors need to start validating there writer's articles a little better. The articles pertaining to cars are riddled with BAD, and REALLY bad articles, in which the author did either NO research, or a very poor job of research. Go buy a "classic" used Mustang for $1000 and you'll spend another $20,000 to get it close to "crusier" status, which ISN'T complete restoration...Most 'Stang fans know that, and opt to pay $10 - 15 thousand and go from there, unless they are builders themselves...just too much time and expense otherwise...later

No '62 Cadillac? No '57 Corvette? A Javelin, Citroen whocareswhatitscalled, Beetle, Datsun, Fiat and MG? These are your best classic cruisers? Best classic eyesores, perhaps. Never seen a Shelby Cobra? I've seen a few of these lists with a couple of bad picks, but this is just pitiful. Unique, but still pitiful.
